Guns Stolen from Brints Security Supervisor

Wilfredo Ferrufino

Belize City police have been working diligently in ridding the streets of illegal firearms.  Those efforts are often countered by criminal elements who persist in the stealing of weapons during the armed robberies of businesses and individuals.  Tonight, there are two more guns unaccounted for, both taken during the robbery of an employee at Brints Security on Magazine Road.  Police are looking for three persons of interest.

Insp. Wilfredo Ferrufino, C.I.B., Belize City

“There was another report of a robbery, this would be Jody Rhamdas, he is the supervisor for Brints Security Company.  He reported that at about three a.m. on June sixth whilst he was retrieving employees, he was accosted by three masked men.  These masked men proceeded to rob him of two nine millimeter pistols, the property of the security firm.  The matter is under investigation and police are seeking suspects in regards to this.”

“It seems as though the spate of armed robberies have increased in Belize City and I know that in the downtown area there are certain measures that have been put in place to try to stem that whole scourge.  But what else is being done in other areas of Belize City where robberies continue to happen?”

Wilfredo Ferrufino

“Well I can tell you that the robberies are being investigated and it is being looked at in that angle, from an investigative aspect and likewise from an operational aspect.  So operational measures have been put in place.”
