Spoonaz Café on North Front Hit Overnight by Armed Thieves

While the robbery at M and L Collections failed, on Monday night, well-known businessman Jeremy Spooner, better known as ‘Spoonaz,’ was the victim of an armed robbery. He was inside his business Spoonaz Photo Café on North Front Street in Belize City just before eleven when a gunman, dressed in a brown security guard uniform, forced himself through the glass door and pointed a firearm at him. Moments after, a second man also wearing a similar uniform entered the business and robbed him of a total of five thousand dollars in Belize and U.S. currency.  The two assailants also made off with a nine millimeter Glock pistol. We attempted to get an interview with the usually outspoken businessman, but were told that he was resting and was quite shaken up following the robbery since the thieves may have threatened him. We note that this is the second time that Spoonaz’s establishment has been targeted. Two years ago, around this time, a burglar made his way into the business and stole over a thousand dollars worth of assortment of items.  Thanks to surveillance cameras at the business, the burglar was caught and sent to jail.
