Papa San returns in September for gospel concert

Story Picture
Whether you’re a fan of dancehall or into spiritual vibes, chances are you’ve heard the music of Papa San. The artist will be performing in Belize for a second time in early September. This time around he’s calling his show “Unfinished Business” because his last act had to be cut short. But according to local promoter Ian Mariano, Papa San will make good on his promises to his Belizean audience.

Ian Mariano, Papa San Promoter

“This year we want to make the same promise to them. Last year we came through, so people are convinced that we can deliver what we are promoting this year. It’s going to be fun, guaranteed. It’s a family event, it’s very cheap, it’s affordable. So come on out, make that investment within your family life, within your own spiritual life.”

“He went to prison and he did a youth forum. He is back because he made a promise to the prisoners and also the show was cut from last year. So he came back and he’s going to continue the show along with a new artist, St. Hope.”

“This thing is call spiritual dance hall revolution. It’s hype, you’re looking at reggae, gospel, well it’s all gospel, but your looking at soca, that’s from the Heavenlies, because you have a cultural flavour and also a Jamaican thing coming to Belize. And that’s Papa San, he’s coming with reggae and different styles of music.”

Tickets for the show on September seventh are available at Korea Electronics, Venus Photos and Records and Harvest Book Shop. Prices are twenty dollars for adults and five for children.
