“The boyfriend of the female, Duarte, came in and there was an altercation between them which resulted in his stabbing both the male and female person. We understand that he attempted to flee from Belize City and boarded a bus, and quick police response led to the apprehension of Jefferson Jacobo, who was on a Westline bus en route to Belmopan. He was detained, and upon inspection of his person, police observed that he had an injury to one of his fingers. He was admitted to the hospital and is still there, and he has been charged for the attempted murder and use of deadly means of harm on both persons.”

Jacobo appeared in court fresh from hospital, where he was treated for cut wounds to two of his last fingers on his right hand. Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford took no plea, offered no bail, and remanded him to prison until July thirtieth.
