Gas Hike in Effect for Third Time This Year

Gas is going up again! For the third time this year, there are increases to report at the pumps – and an erroneous release from the Bureau of Standards actually misstated the level of increases reported. Still, the corrected press release shows an uptick of thirty-nine cents for regular gasoline, which pushes it past the eleven dollar mark to eleven dollars and four cents, up from ten dollars and sixty-five cents. Regular gasoline prices went up by four cents just ten days ago, and started the year at ten dollars and eighteen cents, making the overall increase of eighty-six cents in three months. Diesel goes up by forty-eight cents to ten dollars and forty-nine cents. It started the year at nine dollars and fifty-cents, but has gone up by ninety-nine cents since then. Premium gasoline is not affected in the current round of increases, but it too has taken a thirty-two cent hike since the start of the year. Neither has kerosene, but it has suffered the biggest increase since the start of the year, a bite of nearly two dollars. As per usual, prices go into effect at midnight.
