Abandoned house yields guns and drugs

The Paslow fire may or may not have been the product of a criminal act…but there is no uncertainty surrounding another less famous building in Belize City. On Thursday police entered an abandoned house on Jane Usher Boulevard which was known as a hot spot for drug dealing. What the cops found, however, was a lot more than they expected. In addition to over a pound of crack cocaine, they confiscated enough weapons to open a gun shop. The hardware included a pump-twelve shotgun, and three handguns: a nine millimetre, twenty-five automatic and twenty-two revolver. As for ammunition, there was a box of fifty, nine millimetre bullets, a hundred rounds for the twenty-two, three for the twenty-five and five shells for the shotgun. No people were home during the raid, but if anyone wants to claim their confiscated property they can show up at the police station on Monday.
