P.U.P. Party Leader Weighs in on Wagner-Miller Differences

John Briceño

Leader of the Opposition John Briceño has also weighed in on the City Hall fiasco, chiding former Mayor Darrell Bradley for granting Miller a four-year contract extension, months prior to the recent municipal elections.  But is Miller coming back to city hall? There is a report that the suspension may lead to termination. Briceño says he’s unaware of a dispute between the city officials.

John Briceño, Party Leader, P.U.P.

“I don’t know if there is a rift per se, but I believe that every government, both national or local, should be given the opportunity to be able to put some of the people that they want to work with.  I think if it was not illegal, it was unethical of the previous mayor to, I think it was in October of last year, to give the city administrator a four-year contract.  I think it was unethical, it was wrong, he should have never done it and I am sure that with dialogue you can find a solution to almost anything once both parties are prepared to come with a solution that works for all parties.”

Miller was suspended on April fifth for dereliction of duties; that suspension expires early May. The City Administrator’s extended contract came with a significant raise which according to our sources puts her salary just over ninety thousand dollars per annum. It is known that Miller also benefits from a vehicle and driver.
