Popular DJ’s Vehicle Burnt; Suspected Arsonists Seen

….and from house fires to a vehicle fire. Sometime after twelve-thirty on Wednesday morning, fire-fighters were called out to the parking lot of an apartment complex on University Drive, Belize City, where they saw an SUV engulfed in flames.  The fire-men proceeded to put out the fire but by that time the vehicle was covered in flames. The owner of vehicle, Deejay Justin Williams, told police that on Tuesday he parked his vehicle on the eastern side of the apartment building and the following morning just before twelve-thirty he was informed that his vehicle was on fire. According to police, two men were seen riding a motorcycle in the area; one got off the cycle, went towards the vehicle and exited the compound running. Shortly after, the vehicle was seen on fire. Smith says that investigation into that fire is underway.

“Some time after midnight on Wednesday night, we did receive a call and responded to a vehicle fire, a black SUV. Upon arrival, fire personnel report seeing fire in the engine compartment. The fire was later extinguished. There were reports that a form of accelerant was found nearby. The investigation still not really completed as yet.”


The vehicle is insured and valued at fifteen thousand dollars. Police investigations continue.
