Ousted U.D.P. candidate cries foul

Story Picture
When the latest U.D.P. candidate reshuffle was announced earlier this week, party executives claimed to have the support from both outgoing standard bearers. But today, Sydney Fuller, the former U.D.P. candidate in the Albert Division said not so. According to Fuller, “The events that have happened are an indication that the party has once again chosen not to take heed of the will of the good people of the Albert Division, who have chosen me with confidence in a convention of the party as their standard bearer.” Fuller’s release goes on to state that at recent meetings, it became clear the party’s agenda differed from his own when it came to serving the best interest of the electorate. Fuller’s statement is in direct contradiction to comments made by the new standard bearer in the Albert, attorney Marilyn Williams, who asserted that Fuller had offered his unwavering support to her appointment. But the ousted politician appears undaunted in his goals…he says his dedication to the Albert is unchanged and that he will continue to fight for the division with even more vigour. But whether that means he will challenge Williams in what was supposed to be an endorsing convention, or will now run in the general elections as an independent candidate remains unclear. News 5′s attempt to interview Sydney Fuller today proved unsuccessful.
