Kirk Lamb Accuses Ex-Boss Minister of Questionable Transactions

Kirk Lamb had been an employee of Government Minister Anthony Martinez for nearly a quarter-century, until his recent termination. But Lamb says insult was added to injury when he found out recently that the Minister, without getting his approval, allegedly sent cash vouchers for thousands of dollars in his name to a local credit union account held by Lamb, which is also where his salary went. Supposedly the funds were in Lamb’s role as a “contractor” for Housing for the Poor, though he was most recently a security guard and caretaker at the former Charros’ building on Central American Boulevard. Lamb admits that he did withdraw the funds as requested by Martinez and delivered them to him faithfully, but he insists that he knew nothing otherwise about the source of the funds and is concerned he could be on the hook. He visited News Five today to clear his name and call out his former boss.

Kirk Lamb, Former Employee, Anthony “Boots” Martinez

“The man was using me as a contractor, and I feel hurt by Boots ‘leggoing’ me and noh give me nothing for the twenty-four years I served with him. So I gone look for a job, but people ask me if this is about politics: this is not about politics, this is the way I feel. I get let go and noh get nothing and he got me as a contractor, using me and my account. I feel hurt because that can reflect on me. I could go to jail for those things, sir. So I feel hurt, you understand?  He didn’t ask me, you know, sir? He did it his way; that is wrong. If I want to use something for you, I’m gonna ask you; I’m not going to be arrogant and put that in your name. I need to get in contact with you and ask you first if I can use your thing or whatsoever, so I feel hurt. All that money that came in my name, that’s out in the public so I feel hurt. I went for my thing because I owe credit union a loan which I have to pay back. The other day, when that man put me out in the cold I had nowhere to stay; I had to beg for lodging. That man told me he would take care of me and he didn’t do his job to take care of me, so I feel hurt.”

We tried to reach the minister, but there was no response on his cell phone.
