Shooting Near the Exit of Belize City

Just after six p.m. on Sunday when shots rang out near the six-mile bridge on the George Price Highway. Eighteen-year-old Darnell Domingo, a student of Western Paradise Village, and twenty-nine-year-old Francis Parham were heading to Belize City on a motorcycle, when they were approached by a white car from the opposite direction. A passenger exited the vehicle and opened fire on Parham and Domingo. Although they sought cover in nearby bushes, Parham was hit to the legs before the gunman got back in the vehicle which sped off. Parham was rushed to the K.H.M.H. for medical assistance.

“There was a shooting incident at about seven and a half miles on the George Price Highway. Information we have so far is that two male persons were traveling on motorcycle in the direction of Eight Miles towards Belize City and whilst approaching mile seven and a half, they were approached by a vehicle where the person came out of the vehicle and fired several shots at a person on the vehicle. The persons on the vehicle were one Francis Parham. Both of them jumped from the cycle and ran into the bush, however, the person kept firing shots and injured Francis Parham on the right and left leg. As a result, he was admitted at the hospital and he is there presently in a stable condition at the moment.”

While no one has been detained in this latest act of gun violence, police did recover two point forty-five expended shells and a live round of the same caliber from the scene.
