4 Charged in Home Invasion, including Former Murder Suspect
A total of four persons have now been arraigned for a reported home invasion in the village of Burrell Boom, involving a woman whose house was invaded and two men who claim they were held against their will when a group of persons stormed onto their premises. Already charged is Shereffa Jex, a Burrell Boom resident who came to court last week. Earlier this week, twenty-year-old Keifer McKenzie, the last living son of the late George “Junie Balls” McKenzie, was arraigned for aggravated burglary and two counts of unlawful imprisonment, followed by his mother Melissa Major on Wednesday. Today, it was the turn of twenty-eight-year-old Nelson Henry, who just recently was released from murder charges in the death of Edward Lord Junior in 2012.
He pleaded not guilty to the same charges of aggravated burglary and unlawful imprisonment before Chief Magistrate Sharon Frazer and released on bail of four thousand dollars. Henry, Jex, McKenzie and Major are all accused of forcibly entering into the home of Marisela Salvador located in the Butter Cup area of Burrell Boom, while armed with a knife, and stealing two knives and two machetes belonging to Salvador. Additionally, they forcibly held Leeroy Young and a male minor against their will. The group reappears in court on April fifth.
