Mom Says Police Acted Unprofessionally

Following their arraignment, the trio was given bail of two thousand dollars plus surety of the same amount. Jeremy’s mother, Winnel Harris, says that she was back and forth with the police because she wanted her son and nephew to get medical attention for the injuries they sustained from the alleged beat down by the cops. Harris says she was turned away by the investigating officer, who she says behaved unprofessionally.

“My niece called me early morning and said that police the beat up my son out there. So I tell ahn well get off of the phone and video it. And then they gone and pick me up and I come to find out…I come to the police station. So when I reach at the police station, I meet wah ‘W’ [Woman Police] weh mi deh with the crowd out there. So I ask she if they have my son and she said yes and I asked for what? And she said because ih disrespect a police corporal. So I walked inside and I asked them and they told me that they will charge dehn guys because they disrespect the police dehn out there and they will charge them. One of the police corporal said that it was Corporal Cis di deal with it. So I just walked to it and I asked him, Corporal Cis I come check on my son and nephew and he just walked away and tell me, dehn over eighteen. And then he just walked away. And then I come outside and I say they just very unprofessional. I come and I ask you…it doesn’t matter how old they are, dah my son and my nephew.”
