Investigative team named to look at B.D.F. audit

Weeks after it came to light that there was alleged hanky panky in the B.D.F. Lieutenant Colonel Charlton Roches is being investigated by a team of fellow Belize Defense Force officers for his involvement in a private company that was established to conduct training exercises with the German army. Belize Jungle Experience Limited is an entity that was formed by Roches and others to conduct business on behalf of the B.D.F.  Tonight, he is the subject of a probe being led by a six-member panel which includes Lieutenant Colonel Azariel Loria.  That information was disclosed in a restricted memo signed by Force Adjutant Major Clifton Williams on November thirtieth.  An audit conducted by the Auditor General found that Belize Jungle Experience profited from business transactions done with the German army, monies that should have been collected by the Government of Belize.  Roches, we understand, has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
