B.E.L. Sends More Linemen to Hurricane-Raved British Virgin Islands

A second team of five linemen has been deployed to assist the British Virgin Islands Electricity Corporation with ongoing power restoration on the group of islands. The team, which is comprised of Wayne Lewis, Gregory Kerr, Manuel Lopez, Paul McCalla and George Neal, departed the country on Monday, and will be stationed in BVI for four weeks. They join other teams from member utility companies of the Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation, better known as CARILEC. This cohort replaces a team of five, who returned to Belize today after spending six weeks at Virgin Gorda, BVI.  The linemen are assisting BVI Electric Corporation with rebuilding its power distribution system on that island country that was ravaged by hurricanes Irma and Maria in August and September.
