Carl Reneau Faces Second Murder Trial for fifteen-Year-Old

Carl Reneau

Prison inmate, Carl Reneau, an electrician of Iguana Street in Belize City will have to stand trial for the murder of fifteen-year-old Jaheem Mahler, a student gunned down during a spade of murders in the city earlier this year.  A prima facie has been established against Reneau so he will have to stand trial at the next sitting of the Supreme Court set to commence on January fifteenth, 2018.   Prosecutor, Inspector Hector Rodriguez, submitted as many as ten witness statements and a long list of evidence against Reneau during a preliminary inquiry that concluded on Wednesday evening.   After his committal, Magistrate Aretha Ford asked Reneau if he had any alibi witness; he was unable to provide one, but has seven more days to so do.  Mahler was gunned down on January seventeenth, 2017 in Belize City and three days later, police charged Reneau with his murder.  The young man was senselessly gunned down, shot multiple times to the body and left to die.   He was found lying in a drain on Iguana Street Extension.
