Police Tiplines in Overdrive on weekend

Dezerie Magdaleno

Assistant Commissioner of Police Dezerie Magdaleno also plays a key role in the effectiveness of the campaign.  Her responsibility to ACT includes the gathering of actionable leads from members of the public via a pair of open phone lines.

ACP Dezerie Magdaleno, Commander, Eastern Division

“The Operation ACT that was launched on Friday, as you may well know is about seventy-two hours into it, we have been able to conduct quite a number of house searches, raids some bases.  We have been able to apprehend persons who were wanted for a period of time whom we were not able to apprehend, that has been done during the operation.  And I want to say that the kind of feedback we’re getting from the community, especially by means of the two cell phones acquired for this person has been overwhelming.  I’ve been missing some calls, but at least I return the calls, so a lot of information flow is there and it has been very good, in terms of the cooperation from the public.  Some suggestions made, for which we’ll be looking into, but at the same time we ask the public to work with us, continue to provide us with the kind of information that you have that continue to be useful for us, as well as those you may feel not useful.  They may very well be, and I want to ask those who have not made contact as yet to feel free and do so.”

Lake Independence, Iguana Street Extention and Jane Usher Boulevard are specific areas that have been identified by police under the present strategy.
