Contractor’s Efficiency Gives COLA’s Brackett a Pause

You heard Citizens Organized for Liberty through Action’s take on the Fabers’ Road contract for near eight million dollars issued through selective tendering to Imer Hernandez Development Company, to concrete the road and put in drainage between Central American Boulevard and George Price Highway. But it seemed to even flabbergast president Geovannie Brackett when we told him that work had already started in the area, not quite twenty-four hours after the contract was signed. The Ministry of Works’ release did make clear that works were to begin immediately. Brackett, needless to say, is not jumping for joy, because those involved are to him, quite shady.

Geovannie Brackett, President, COLA
“I’ve never seen the government work this efficient yet. You’re telling me Thursday they sign a contract, Friday they began work? I wish every government office would work as efficiently as Boots Martinez and his team. I don’t want to say what kind of team he has, but those entire names that is surrounding that contract is suspicious. Pool table business? Yellow brick house that is going up faster than lightening? And land dealing up to over seventy million that we still can’t get closure to as to how on God’s earth, it seems… I feel sorry for Prime Minister Barrow you know. He has a rogue cabinet. That entire U.D.P. regime is out of control.”

For the record, Martinez, a former Minister of Works, has denied ownership of any buildings other than the one now housing the Women’s Department at Central American Boulevard since he became a minister, and can account for his earnings and wealth in his time in office.
