Rest of National Executive Posts Also Up for Grabs

According to Party Chairman Henry Charles Usher, every other position within the national executive is up for challenge.  He goes through the necessary procedures of nomination.

“This morning we had the first national executive meeting since the last National Party Council which was held on September thirtieth and, as you know, at the National Party Council a call was made for a national convention to be held this year, on the last Sunday of November, the twenty-sixth of November, and the venue being Belize City.  So we had to meet this morning as an executive to go over the details, set in place for submissions and so on, the logistics really, of that national convention.  So that was the major part of today’s meeting and I can tell you that it was agreed by the national executive that the deadline for submissions would be October twenty-seventh at four p.m.  The submissions have to be made in writing, the nominations, and have to be accompanied by an acceptance letter, in writing, from the different nominees.  So what we’re looking at is nominations for the positions that are open on the national executive and that includes all positions other than the chair of the caucuses and the heads of the units such as the BYM, the Women’s Group and so on.  So every other position in the national executive is open and nominations have to be done from particular units for those posts.”
