Can Money Buy Love in P.U.P.?
Earlier in the newscast, Deputy Party Leader Kareem Musa told the media that he is contemplating whether he should challenge Party Leader John Briceño for leadership of the People’s United Party. Now, Briceño is known to be a successful businessman and has had the wherewithal to sustain any and all political campaigns that have come his way. But would an opponent such as Kareem Musa be able to keep up with Briceño when it comes to funding vote seeking activities?

“I’m saying that Mr. Briceño is a wealthy man. You ain’t poor, but in terms of cash flow…”
Kareem Musa, Deputy Party Leader, P.U.P.
“I will be straight up with you and say I could never match the amount of resources that our current party leader has, never. But at the same time, as another colleague, you could say Mr. Faber taught us, I think he said it’s all about the base, it’s not all about the money. So I hate to be quoting Faber, but there you go.”

“In terms of winning, what work do you consider needs to be done, going out and meeting people?”
Kareem Musa
“Yes. As you know it’s approximately three thousand delegates. On average you are looking at some divisions that have a hundred and seventy, some go as low as sixty delegates. And if it is that I do launch my candidacy by the twenty-sixth, we have thirty-one constituencies and I have to do that in thirty days. So two constituencies in one day will happen.”
