Latest murder claims Jason Almendarez on Jasmine Street
With two murders over the holiday weekend and a third reported this afternoon, the murder count for 2017 is up to one hundred and fourteen murders unofficially, slightly ahead of the 2016 pace. We start with what appears to be an execution-style murder on Jasmine Street, a stone’s throw from the neighborhood police station on Mahogany Street, around two this afternoon. Official information from police has not been provided as of news time. But News Five understands that Almendarez went to a store in the area to buy food in this black vehicle. As he was coming out of the establishment, someone rode by and fired one shot to the head. He was immediately taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital but died sometime after. News Five will have more on this latest murder on Wednesday.
Update: On today’s date at 2:15pm police visited the K.H.M.H. where they saw twenty-seven-year old Jason Almendarez with gunshot wounds to the back of head and to the left shoulder. Investigation reveals that at 2:08pm he went to buy food at Fish Joint Food Shop located on Jasmine Street and while inside the yard ordering his food a perp came from behind and fired several shots at him. He died at 5:55pm while receiving treatment.
