Gang Boss Turned Truce Leader Injured in Hospital Along with Woman

Alex Underwood and Crystal Flowers remain hospitalized at the K.H.M.H. recovering from gunshot wounds following the shooting at Bismark Club on Sunday morning. Now, Underwood is one of the reputed bosses of the South Side Gang and most recently was part of the gang truce organized by then South Side Regional Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police Chester Williams along with mediators Dianne Finnegan and Nuri Mohammed. Earlier this year on August fourth, at a workshop with various gang leaders, Underwood spoke about the work among rivaling gangs to abandon criminal activity.

“Yes man, definitely. We do that every day. We don’t need anybody to tell we fi do that. That dah fi we job ina di hood. We always di talk to the youth deh and try show them the right way and try show them what is right from wrong and dah only dehn fi listen and take in from we because we di go through the experience and we know what ti is like to be ina di streets. So we just the try show them the better way.”
