Moses Babb Brought to Court for Shooting of Aaron King

Moses Babb

Eighteen-year-old Moses Anthony Babb has been remanded to the Belize Central Prison after being arraigned earlier today on a slew of charges resulting from a near fatal shooting on Sunday.  Babb was indicted in the courtroom of Magistrate Aretha Ford for attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm and kept unlicensed firearm, following an incident on September seventeenth during which Aaron King was shot multiple times.  Babb appeared unrepresented in court, where Prosecutor Kennard Clark asked the magistrate not to take a plea from the accused because the charges are for indictable offenses.  Magistrate Ford then explained to Babb that no plea would be taken from him since a preliminary inquiry will be held and if there is sufficient evidence, the matter will be committed to trial at the Supreme Court.  Allegations against Babb are that on September seventeenth, he was found on the scene of the shooting in possession of an unlicensed nine millimeter handgun with no serial number.  He has been remanded until November 2017.
