Sedi Deals with Progresso Heights Case Privately

Wilfred Elrington

Minister Elrington was also asked about an embarrassing case that has gone as far as the Caribbean Court of Justice, brought against him by Progresso Heights Limited.  The court had given Elrington thirty days to hand over land documents to the company and that deadline is soon approaching, on the twenty-first of August. Elrington was less forthcoming this time around, saying that it is a private matter for him and his family since he owns twenty percent of the shares in Progresso Heights Limited.

Wilfred Elrington, Foreign Affairs Minister

“That’s a completely and totally private issue between myself and Progresso Heights, which is a company which I formed and in fact for which I own twenty percent. That is a private matter and to my mind should not be discussed publicly because it is still ongoing. The litigation is still in process so it is not a matter that I care to discuss; I mean the details are already out, but it is still what we lawyers say is sub judice and we should not be talking about it.”

“What happens to you if you don’t find those papers?”

Wilfred Elrington

“It depends on what the court will do.”
