Story PictureAlso this morning in Court, three persons were charged for Attempted Murder. First to be arraigned before Chief Magistrate, Margaret Gabb McKenzie was eighteen year old Lloyd Lawrence Elijio. The student of Tubal Training Institute in Ladyville was charged jointly along with a fifteen-year-old minor with Conspiracy to Commit Murder for the shooting of Mark Lord which occurred on Sunday, October twenty fifth on Hyde’s Lane. Elijio alone was charged with one count of Attempted Murder, Dangerous Harm and Use of Deadly Means of Harm and was remanded to the Belize Youth Hostel while Elijio was sent to Hattieville Prison. Both are due back before the court on December first. Mark Lord was reportedly walking near an alley on Hyde’s Lane when two youths approached him and opened fire at him. Hyde was shot five times.

In the second incident, twenty seven year old Paul White, a carpenter of Central American Boulevard appeared before Senior Magistrate Dorothy Flowers to face four charges. White is charged with Attempted Murder and Robbery, Aggravated Assault and Escape. White’s arrest came after someone tried to rob Diamond Entertainment Bar on Saint Thomas Street last Friday afternoon. In the process, one of the two gunmen tried to fire shots but the gun jammed. Nothing was stolen, but police detained White the same night. But he managed to escape and was recaptured on Thursday.
