Police Removed Hospitalized Suspect from Private Hospital to Lay Charges

Jimmy Dueck

Dueck says that Betancourth still needs medical attention for the chop wound on his arm and remains in pain. But he says that Police didn’t allow him to receive that much needed doctor’s care – instead they removed him from the hospital and slapped him with a murder charge.

Jimmy Dueck, Brother-in-law of Nevis Betancourth

“He has been in the La Loma Luz for eleven days and he was discharged from the hospital two days ago after which he was taken to the San Ignacio Police station when he was arraigned today. But he still has a lot of pain in his arm. So, he was taken to the La Loma Luz hospital again to see how he is doing because he has a metal rod in his finger to hold it up. The doctor wanted to check on him but he had another client to deal with before he checked Mister Betancourth. But apparently the police from the station came and just took Nevis by force and said that they were going to take him to the San Ignacio Hospital. So, I followed in my mobile and following the police mobile they did not in fact take him to the hospital, they took him straight to the San Ignacio Police station. They went around in circles trying to lose me so that I could not follow them. But I followed them all the way to the station, but they took Mister Betancourth inside and they read him his charges and locked him up in the jail cell.”
