Dion Leslie Thrives Out of Media Spotlight

Dion Leslie

With less than a month to go before polling opens for the U.D.P. municipal convention, mayoral candidates Dion Leslie and Philip Willoughby have been actively campaigning on the ground and on the airwaves. Willoughby in particular has been making personal appearances in battleground communities such as the one we showed you earlier.  On Tuesday, Leslie seemed to indirectly condemn Willoughby’s style, saying he does things differently.

Dion Leslie, Mayoral Aspirant

“Phillip is doing good work and he is still a part of the council and he is promoting good initiatives throughout the city. So you can’t deny that. My work is on the ground. You all have known me for so much years, I have never been the type of person to immediately jump up in front of the camera. I’ve been elected to do a job. That does not mean I got elected for fame. I got elected to do a job. The people on the ground, the people on the streets, the people in the households know what I’ve done. I’ve been there for them no matter what. I don’t have to call somebody every minute when I do something. That’s just not been me, but I’ve been doing the work and if that is how the councilor decides to continue his campaign, my strategy is house to house on the ground. That’s where the votes are won.”
