Chief Prosecutor Praises Police for Work on Faye Lin Cannon Case

According to the Director of Public Prosecution, Cheryl-Lynn Vidal, this case has been one in which the police department has worked hand-in-hand with her office. Vidal says that while murder charges have not been levied, vital information provided by police led to the charges of Cruelty to a Child against the Doehms.

Cheryl-Lynn Vidal, Director of Public Prosecutions

“You know that most often you hear from me ranting and raving about the police. But I cannot say anything unfavorable in this case. They consulted with us as early as it was possible for them to do so and I really feel that they are investing a lot of time and energy in this investigation and doing all that they could possibly do. So the fact that we have not been able to lay a charge for the death of Faye Lin is not for want of a proper investigation by the police. And I really have to commend Misses Phillips Magdaleno for the approach that she took in relation to the investigation because we have been communicating in relation to the matter when I needed information to make my decision, she was very quick to respond and ensure that I got what I want and this is the way that the police and the D.P.P. Office is supposed to work—together.”
