Who Will Be Miss Carnival 2017?

Carnival season 2017 is in full swing and mas bands across the city are meticulously preparing for the upcoming road march.  Getting there, for most associations, means participating in all the activities leading up to the bid day.  On Friday evening at the Bliss, six contestants representing the various bands will vie for the title of Miss Carnival.  Earlier today at the Fort George Memorial Park, they took the opportunity to meet with the media and are also inviting you to come out and support the pageant.

“Hello Belize, come out and support these lovely ladies vying for the title of Ms. Carnival come tomorrow, Friday, at the Bliss Center.  You don’t want to miss it; it’s the first competition of the carnival season.  Trust me, it’s going to be a show to remember.”

“If I should win Miss Carnival 2017, I would definitely let carnival be what carnival was back in the days.  I mean, perfect example with the changing of the route.  Carnival doesn’t have to be the same route every year for it to be carnival, I mean things grow and things change and with change comes several different benefits.  I mean, at one point we all wanted Belize’s carnival to be like Trinidad and it wasn’t always the same thing in Trinidad, trust me.  But I believe that, you know, I would continue to invent new stuff and develop new rules and who knows, definitely one day Belize will be on that level where everybody else is.”

“So guys if you are undecided about which band you should revel with, this is a great opportunity because the contestants, we will be portraying the different talents, the costumes and this is a perfect opportunity to start feeling the vibes of Belize’s ultimate carnival experience.”
