Situation Comedy ‘Livin Mi Life’ Comes to Belizean T.V.

“Livin’ Mi Life” – it’s a Belizean produced sitcom that’s been directed and shot right here in the City. Producer Kim Vasquez, who worked on the well-known “No Matta What” series has partnered once again with Thirteen Productions and Steve Berry, who is a former professor at Howard University, to pool together local talented dramatists to pull off this comedy. Today, News Five spoke with the team.

“The last season of ‘No Matta What’ that we did was in 2010, season four and people have been asking for programming again. Although we have more or less….’Noh Matta What’ has run its course, but we decided to do something new. And so we did the first long running dramatic series in Belize, so let us now do the first sitcom in Belize.”

“Myrtle is a Church-going woman, God-fearing woman. She has one son, his name is Harry. She is a widow; I think her husband died or poison-ahn – I don’t know. Myrtle is single and most action takes place at Myrtle’s home because she has this warm, welcoming home. She is always in the kitchen, always cooking. And Myrtle’s life revolves around her son; that’s her center.”

“I am constantly impressed with the level of talent that is down here in Belize. Even with ‘No Matta What,’ every season we would bring in new characters and I was always impressed with how these new characters would just blend in and become their own individual powers within the show. The new characters that we have for ‘Livin’ Mi Life’ are more impressive I would think.”

The six episodes of ‘Livin Mi Life’ will air on this station on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
