Green Card for Boots?

Anthony “Boots” Martinez

Minister of Transport Edmond Castro had his U.S. diplomatic and personal visas revoked a few weeks ago for unconfirmed reasons, though his alleged involvement in the Immigration scandal is considered a key reason in some quarters.  But speculation has run rampant that other Government Ministers are in danger of losing their visas as well. One is Minister Anthony “Boots” Martinez, who was questioned in Belmopan today. Like his Cabinet colleague Castro, Minister Martinez is not hot about the idea of heading to “States” any time soon, but he confirmed that he does have an application in for a green card for himself and members of his family.

Anthony “Boots” Martinez, Minister of Human Development

“I have a paper right here, sir; where the Embassy is inviting me to fill out [an application] for my green card; I’m not even certain if I want a green card, but I am saying right here in my bag I have the application right here. And so I am not a person excited over America; at the time when I filed I filed for myself, my mother filed for my daughter and so; the paper has come up now, it’s up to me to take it in. so it’s not here or there. The United States invited me to not only have a visa but to live over there.”

After four terms in office, Martinez will step down as Port Loyola area representative at the end of his current term. And we’ll have more from the senate when we come back.
