Kashief Gallego to Court for Jermaine Franklin Murder

Kashief Gallego

Twenty-five-year-old Kashief Gallego was charged with and arraigned for the murder of thirty-six-year-old Jermaine Franklin. Gallego appeared unrepresented in court today before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser. Due to the nature of the offense, no plea was taken and he was denied bail before being remanded into custody until July eleventh.  Around six-thirty on Wednesday evening, Franklin had just exited Teddy’s Music and DVD on King Street in Belize City when a man shot and killed him.  It is reported that Franklin visited the store to buy movies and he was accosted outside but the assailant later followed him into the store. When Franklin exited the music store, the man followed him outside where he would fire several shots fatally wounding Franklin. It is reported that Gallego was fingered in the murder after surveillance footage was reviewed putting him on the scene. According to police, all indications are that the murder was not gang-related; they have information that suggest it was motivated by a personal matter between the men.
