Fitzroy Yearwood

Twenty-six-year-old Naomi Abigail Taylor, a primary school teacher of Dangriga, lost her life on Thursday evening while riding a bicycle on Ecumenical Drive.  Taylor was heading to her mother’s house when a motorcycle driven by twenty-two-year-old Michael Estero collided into the back wheel of the male beach cruiser bicycle.  She fell onto the concrete street and sustained grave injuries.   She was rushed to the Southern Regional Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries an hour later.  Media Relations Officer, Inspector Fitzroy Yearwood says that Estero has been served with a notice of intended prosecution.

Insp. Fitzroy Yearwood, Press Officer, B.P.D.

“Police responded to a scene in the Wageirale area in Dangriga where they saw Naomi Taylor suffering from injuries consistent with a road traffic accident.  An initial investigation revealed that she was riding her bicycle in that area when a motor bike with two men, one driven by twenty-two-year-old Estero, his name is Estero, and accompanied by a seventeen-year-old male also, collided into her from behind where she suffered some injuries.  She was transported to the Southern Regional Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries about an hour later.  The minor also received injuries and he was further transported to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.  I know that Dangriga police have already issued an NIP on Mr. Estero in connection with that accident and I will follow up with them so as soon as charges are levied and then I will relay that to you.”

Estero was accompanied on the motorcycle by seventeen-year-old Calvin Williams.  Meanwhile in the Toledo District on Thursday, a fifteen-year-old student of Julian Cho Technical High School perished in a road traffic accident along the Southern Highway.  Justice Recinos was traveling along with a relative to Forest Home Village when she reportedly fell out of the vehicle and suffered massive head and facial injuries.
