Cayo Police Vehicle Rammed; Driver Charged

Earlier today, pictures surfaced on social media of a police pickup, extensively damaged to the rear and front portions. A late evening release by the department states that a police officer attached to the San Ignacio Formation parked the Ford F-150 Pickup Truck in front of the Police Station on King Street when a Chevy Silverado Pickup driven at the time by Santa Elena resident thirty-six-year-old Eugene Flowers collided into the back of the pickup. Flowers is believed to have been drinking. The impact sent the police mobile into a nearby lamppost. At the time of the accident, Flowers was accompanied by twenty-seven-year-olds Joel Sierra and Luis Garcia, both of Santa Elena Town. All three occupants of the Chevy Silverado Pickup Truck sustained head and body injuries and were transported to the San Ignacio Hospital for treatment. Flowers could not produce a driver’s license and was detained pending charges of drove motor vehicle without due care and attention and with alcohol concentration above the prescribed limit. He was also charged for failure to produce a driver’s license and for driving an unlicensed motor vehicle.

  1. Belizean pride says:

charge all of the occupants for the damage because driver drunk is a well known cause of deaths and damages being done daily and people seem not to understand, well charge them fully to the max. How in the hell will they joyride while knowing they are drinking, where has the sense of control these people have no existence.
