Fake Cops Taken to Real Jail

Dorian Blair & Barrington Slusher

After five nights in lockdown at the Queen Street Police Station, two alleged fake cops were finally arraigned. The duo was caught in front of Public’s Supermarket dressed in the police uniforms on April nineteenth, 2017.  Dorian Blair, who is no stranger to the law, along with Barrington Slusher today appeared before Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith and pleaded not guilty to the charge of false pretence of an officer.  Blair was out on bail for a separate offense when he was nabbed for the new offense.  He will appear before a Supreme Court judge where it is expected that his firearm bail will be revoked.  The Court Prosecutor strongly objected to bail on the ground that by impersonating cops, the duo was breaking down the trust that citizens place in officers of the law and they had to be held accountable for their actions.  The Magistrate denied bail and both were remanded to the Belize Central Prison until July fourth, 2017.  The two alleged fake cops were surprised by the real cops as they stood near the door at Public’s. They caught the police’s attention because one wore a red belt and the other a green belt which would not be in line with the police uniform.
