Football Federation suspends Corozal football chief
The Football Federation of Belize will hold its tenth Ordinary Congress in June. At that time members will be electing several outstanding positions on the executive, including a president. At the last such meeting, members were unable to decide between current incumbent Marlon Kuylen and Ruperto Vicente after twenty-two rounds of voting. News has emerged of a pair of dismissals from the regional executive bodies allied to the Federation. On April fourth, President Cecil Tillett was dismissed from the Toledo Football Association. And on April nineteenth, the F.F.B. suspended chair of the Corozal Football Association Frank Sutherland for alleged “illegal activities.”In a statement, the Federation says it received a letter from the Toledo Football Association stating that its Executive Members dismissed Chairman Cecil Tillett. That letter along with Mr. Tillett’s response was forwarded to the legal department. Federation officials this evening said they would not comment further as the matter is in a process of investigation. The Federation does note that a member who is suspended loses his membership rights and other members may not entertain sporting contact with that person.
