Arson Attack at Farm in Cowpen
An elderly farmer is lucky to have escaped what had to have been a traumatic experience on Thursday, during which a trio of armed men visited his place of employment on the outskirts of Cowpen Village. The men whose faces were concealed, arrived at the farm around eight o’clock in the morning and asked for Javier Orellana, the owner of the property. When seventy-four-year-old Victoriano Chacon responded, the intruders proceeded to place him inside a concrete culvert outside of the house. Two of the men then left the farm while another, armed with a shotgun, stood guard over the Salvadoran national. When the men returned sometime thereafter, they proceeded to torch the bungalow structure. The building, valued at approximately four thousand dollars, was completely destroyed by fire. Police investigations continue.
