Man Charged 1 Year Later for Deadly Chopping Incident
Police have arrested and charged a man for the crime of murder exactly one year after the crime was committed. Twenty-three-year-old Marlon Padillo of Selena Village in Cayo was slapped with the charge in connection with the chopping death of Guatemalan national sixty-three-year-old Edgar Alfonso Perdomo Aldana. The incident happened back on April second, 2016 sometime around three a.m. Aldana was drinking inside the Iguana Creek Government School compound near his home with a friend. Two men later approached the duo and a fight started. During the fight, one of the men pulled out a machete and chopped both men. One of the men, Ruben Manzon survived the ordeal, but Aldana didn’t. He was chopped several times to the head and body and died shortly after on the scene.
