Insp. Fitzroy Yearwood, Media Officer, Belize Police Department
“We have forty-eight hours for which we can detain a person; if that person is not charged within that forty-eight hours, then that person has been released. Knowing my investigators, if he was charged that would have been forwarded to me. That doesn’t mean that he could not be picked up again in the light of new evidence. So I can tell you that none of our cases go cold and we have our officers, different investigators that work on these cases around the clock. As soon as we have any updates, you know if it is one in the morning, I send it to you. So as soon as we get any information in relation to any of these shooting, it will be forwarded to you.”
