Senator and Attorney Says It’s Democracy
The target of the protestors’ ire returned to his office just before they arrived. He had been at court for an unrelated matter and spoke briefly in response to the idea of the protest. Having been on the frontlines a time or two himself, he appreciates the importance of free speech and free will, although he warned that in this case not much would be accomplished.

“I don’t know who the people are. We live in a democracy; they are entitled to demonstrate, express their free will and to show their disagreement with myself or anybody else in the country and I have no quarrel with them doing that. It does not seem to me to be an advisable course, but that’s their right so I have no objections to that.”
