Alrick August

Last Wednesday, an attempt was made on the life of twenty-three year old Alrick August; he has since been hospitalized inside the Intensive Care Unit of the K.H.M.H. after undergoing surgery for eight shots to the neck, chest and arm. There is good and bad news coming from the family today who says that while he began talking, the doctors had to put him in an induced coma for his recovery to continue. In the meantime, he is still in need of blood and the medical bill continues to climb. News Five spoke with his girlfriend Shian Pennill, who says that the family still has hope.

“We are at the hospital right now and it is pretty hectic; we are trying to get blood for him. He is O-negative blood and that is indeed a rare type of blood to find, but at this time, they are accepting any type of blood because it is really urgent that he needs it. His life really depends on it.”

“What are the doctors saying?”

Shian Pennill

“Well the doctors are telling us that he is in a very critical condition; he is losing a lot of blood and it needs to be replaced. So you know the urgency of the blood is vital and as the family, we are asking for the support of the public. We really need the help; just come out and it will take five minutes to donate the blood; it could save a life.”
