No Evidence Against Urbie Alamilla in Bar Shooting

Urbie Alamilla

Interdicted police officer, Urbie Alamilla, who back in June 2016 was charged with discharging a firearm in the Jade Restaurant located between miles eight and nine on the Phillip Goldson Highway, is home free tonight. Today, the prosecution chose not to offer any evidence at what was expected to be his trial in the matter.  That is because Alamilla was clearly acting under his jurisdiction as a police officer when he fired the shot.  Prosecutor Sergeant Claude Pitts told the court that a video footage shows Alamilla trying to calm down two individuals; one had a bottle and the other a weapon. When they were heading towards each other, Alamilla in his effort to prevent a fight pulled out his gun and fired a shot to the ground. With that said, Pitts informed the court that they were withdrawing the charge against Alamilla who has been on interdiction since June of 2016 and is now expected to be reinstated into the force.
