One Caught, Two Sought in Uno Gas Robbery

Belize City police have detained one person and are looking for two others, following Tuesday’s mid-morning armed robbery of the UNO Gas Station on Youth for the Future Drive. A Honda accord car with no license plates, believed to have been the getaway car used by the two armed and masked robbers, has also been impounded. According to the administrator of the gas station, he arrived around nine a.m. to deposit three Scotia Bank bags containing cash.  Two of the bags were to be deposited at the gas station and another to Scotia Bank, Belize City. But as he exited the store, he was robbed of the deposit bag with approximately fifteen thousand eight hundred and seventy eight dollars.  The administrator says that he was ambushed by two male persons, one of whom pointed a nine millimeter pistol at him and took away the bag with the cash. The other assailant took an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash register and then they both fled the scene. As we said, police has one person detained and has a vehicle impounded.

1 caught, good. Thankfully no lives lost. People need to be more smart about delivery cash deposits. Take it different times routes and try to have police presence.
