Anne Swaney Murder Case Still Outstanding a Year Later

Anne Swaney

Nearly one year ago, Chicago, Illinois television producer and journalist Anne Swaney was found murdered at a resort outside of Benque Viejo del Carmen. Local police called on investigators from the U.S. to assist in the case, but the trail has gone cold. It has otherwise been a quiet year for the Benque Viejo Sub-Formation in terms of major crimes, which is not unusual for a usually quiet part of the country. Still, police would like to clear the Swaney case and so deputy officer commanding the sub-formation, Inspector Stanley Bowden, made a fresh appeal on Tuesday for new information to crack the outstanding murder case.

“We don’t have any leads in respect to that investigation; we are still awaiting some test results that were sent abroad – other than that there are still no leads. But of course we urge the public – if anyone knows anything in respect of the murder, they are free to come forward and pass that information on to the Police. Benque Viejo is a quiet town; crime wise we had three murder investigations for 2016 and out of the three of them two have been solved and one is still under investigation. Other than that, major crimes is not high in this area.”
