Belmopan Man Killed in Fatal Collision in St. Matthew’s Village
The last fatality of the weekend due to a traffic accident took place on Tuesday night on the George Price Highway. Police from Roaring Creek visited an area between Miles forty and forty-one and saw David Alfaro of Peru Street, Salvapan, Belmopan, apparently dead with multiple head and body injuries. Alfaro was pushing a bicycle on the road from east to west around seven in the evening when he was hit from behind by a White 2014 Isuzu D-max. The D-Max was being driven by San Ignacio Town resident Tedford Pate. Pate has been served with a notice of intended prosecution. Police have ruled out alcohol as a factor in the crash but are not sure if something else impaired Pate and caused the fatal accident.
