Ambassador Liu Pledges More Help in Education
Taiwan has been a generous partner making significant contributions to Belize in areas of education, infrastructure, agriculture and culture. Ambassador Liu says that the many programs already in place will continue and he looks to opening new doors.
Charles Liu, Taiwanese Ambassador to Belize
“We have been doing work together on many projects such as agriculture projects. We do lots of project with orange, the papayas and the shrimp breeding. These kinds of experience, we bring the technology and the knowhow from Taiwan to work hand-in-hand with the people in Belize. But recently I think that we want to bring more scholarships for the local students. We want to provide them with short-term courses in Taiwan and next year, we are going to provide the full scholarship for four years for Belizean people to study in medicine for four years so they can learn the medical knowhow for when they finish schools, they can be your doctors here to help the people in Belize. I think that is going to be a very good project.”
