Legal advice needed on what to do with green ham

A consignment of fifty thousand pounds of green hams remains in quarantine at the western border after being detained sometime last week by the Belize Agricultural Health Authority. The origin of the shipment of uncured meat has not been confirmed, however, it is reported that the container was turned back from Ecuador prior to being rerouted to Miami.  News Five understands that the hams are being investigated because they are nearing expiration.  According to C.E.O. in the Ministry of Agriculture Jose Alpuche, legal advice is being sought in determining the way forward.  No one has been charged so far, nor has there been any action taken to release the cargo.  While the identity of the importer hasn’t been disclosed, we are reliably informed that the businessman operates out of the commercial free zone.
