Police Won’t Confirm Arson in Tragic Death of Kaylee Alvarez

Police are no closer to determining the cause of the fire that claimed the life of two year old Kaylee Alvarez last Thursday in the Conch Shell Bay Area. As a matter of fact, they say that the evidence on hand doesn’t suggest an arson and they are still unable to pin point where the fire started. But on Friday of last week, the mother of the toddler Phyllis Rhaburn told us that she believed it was arson and that it was started in the children’s bedroom.  She claimed that threats had been against her family and that the children weren’t playing with any sort of device or material that would be used to create a flame or ignite materials. But today, Police are not confirming those statements. ACP Chester Williams also pointed out that members of deceased toddler will also be charged because they had assaulted a man they suspected to have set the fire.

“I know much has been said in terms of whether or not it was an arson or a fire. I will admit, or I will say, that at this time we have no evidence to suggest that it was an arson. From all indications, it is a fire. We are still trying to determine how it was started and the Fire Department is working closely on that to be able to ascertain what is the cause of the fire and where on the building is the point where the fire had started. But the video that you all were told about of a person running away from the crime scene, from the fire scene, that video has been examined. It did in fact exist but that video has been countered with other videos to reflect that the person in that video was not present on that fire scene when the fire started.”

“Sir, does that then mean that the victim of that beat down will be pursuing any charges against those family members of the deceased?”

ACP Chester Williams

“I have instructed my officers to proceed with charges against those persons who beat down Mr. Jones.”
