Police Hunt Persons Who Killed a Father in Front of His Family in Benque

There was another vicious murder that occurred overnight. A forty-five year old woodcarver was gunned down in bizarre circumstances in front of his wife and teenage daughter in his native San Jose Succotz. Police are still chasing suspects and a motive in the murder of Luis Alberto Camal. According to reports, Camal was walking along with his family to their home in the village when a man opened fire in their direction. Camal was hit to the head as he attempted to protect his family from the armed robber. Officer in Charge of Benque Viejo Police, Superintendent Daniel Arzu told News Five about the homicide.

On the Phone: Supt. Daniel Arzu, O.C., Benque Viejo Police

“Benque Viejo police was called out to the San Ignacio Hospital morgue. There the officers observed a Hispanic male person with a single wound to the upper portion of his chest. Investigation reveal that sometime around seven-forty thereabouts, he was on his way home to Succotz Village from Benque Viejo along with his wife and fifteen year old daughter when they were approached by two male persons—one who apparently took out something that appeared to be a firearm—and subsequently fired a shot at the gentleman. He was rushed to the San Ignacio Community Hospital and there he was pronounced dead on arrival. At this time, we believe a post mortem examination is being conducted and we are investigating the matter.”

“Did they indicate that he was in any trouble with the law or any issues with certain individuals that would have led to what happened to him?”

On the Phone: Supt. Daniel Arzu

“Not to our knowledge. No one knows if the victim is involved with the law in any way shape or form; as a matter of fact, we have no records of that.”

Police continue their investigations and are seeking two men for questioning.
