Dianne Finnegan Attacks Activists for “Recruiting” Youth Apprentices

Dianne Finnegan

The two minors charged along with twenty-three year old Adrian Avaloy for setting the tires on fire are participants in the Youth Apprenticeship Program that is coordinated by Dianne Finnegan. Finnegan was also at the magistrate’s court this afternoon as the trio was arraigned for the offense. Visibly upset, she called out Brackett and Smith, saying that their alleged action to hire youths to burn tires on the bridge can also be considered corruption.

“Adults who you think should know better who say they represent the people and are there to try and make a positive difference in people’s lives are the ones who are manipulating these individuals to get their agendas across. And that is wrong; that is sad. And when you look at them, one of them didn’t even have any representation. He is seventeen years old, but his mom is not even there; there is nobody representing them. And I think this is cruel because when I heard the president of the B.N.T.U. spoke, he made it clear that he did not want any kind of problems, fire…nothing to disrupt the purpose for which they are protesting. And then you have some who have their own agenda who decide you know what, let’s take this to another level. This is my take on all of this; the fact that one of their primary purpose for protesting is corruption. So what do you call you coming out of your safe zone, targeting individuals from a different area to carry out your agenda? This for me is uncalled for, is cruel and these are the things that I think the nation has to speak out against because they are taking advantage of these young people who—well they need the money.”
